Injector

image

An injector is a device that is used to inject the fuel into a chamber for combustion. The injector is also called as atomizer or sprayer. The injector sprays the fuel into the combustion chamber in a pressurized manner such that it combines with the air and gets combusted completely. The mixture of air and fuel mixes in the chamber and mixture is pressurized thus complete combustion of the fuel occurs. The main parts of an injector are nozzle, cap nut, spindle, and fuel inlet and compression spring. The nozzle of the injector is made so small that the spray is very fine. The nozzles of the injector are checked with the help of nozzle testing device. The nozzle plays a vital role in pressurizing the fuel into the chamber. There are two kinds of adjustments that can be made in an injector; they are shim adjustment and screw and nut adjustment. The injection depends on the tension of the spring. Now a day the fuel injection is employed in two wheelers to have a higher mileage and greater pick up. Thus an injector plays a vital role in fine mixing of the air and fuel and supports complete combustion of the fuel.
