Electric horn

The common part of all vehicles is the electric horn. This is a small section but has a life saving function. The horns are used to alter the riders of neighbouring vehicles. Though the vehicles have rear view mirrors, the rider can’t have the complete look of all the vehicles behind him. So he can be cautioned only when a horn is blowing by the other vehicles. In general horn provides a warning sound to the other road users. In the early times the horn were made of speakers which blow when the switch is pressed. Nowadays the horns are made of diaphragm which vibrates to produce sound waves by means of an electromagnet. Some horns are also made using relays which provides better contact between horn and the battery. When a horn button is pressed there exists a contact between the horns winding to the battery. The blowing of horn also helps in alerting the car drivers as the cars are usually air conditioned and driver can be cautioned only by an external force. Thus horns not only help in alerting the other drivers in the traffic but also help us to have a safe and secured drive.
